Georgetown Hill Climb Sanctioned in Part by The Strippers Car Club
The announcement of the first Georgetown Hill Climb Race inside the Georgetown Courier as well as the first Hill Climb Road Race Program in 1953 announcing the results of the race. These original documents were saved by "Pete" Garramone and are from his collection. Today the race has been transformed by Mike "Nick" Nicholas of "Nick's" Garage. He has brought back the Hill Climb Races starting in 2013 and is now a yearly event. Thousands of race fans come to visit and bring their custom cars to race up the paved hill. In 1953 this road was nothing but dirt and no guard rails. These amazing custom cars are stacked up along the sidewalks in a make-shift car show in this quaint small town in Colorado. It really is a sight to be seen.
